Since its opening in June 2016, the 400-person capacity event venue is home to one of the largest green walls in the southern hemisphere and has earned its reputation as one of Sydney’s most unique, premium spaces. Stunning contemporary architecture allows horticultural displays and educational uses to be incorporated within one facility and offers a memorable home for an exciting range of workshops and events.

Perfectly Paired was engaged for their hospitality management consultancy services by The Calyx to develop a catering model that encompassed plans for a venue café / restaurant, plus a clear vision for the large event space. As part of this project, Perfectly Paired identified the most sustainable, effective structure for the venue, and made the decision to manage all venue sales and marketing in-house.

The next phase of the Perfectly Paired team’s strategy included the development of tender documents and management of the catering tender process. Perfectly Paired was also invited to implement an effective venue sales and marketing strategy that would actively drive event sales, by outlining key target markets across both the private and corporate sectors.

The details of this plan encompassed recommendations on target markets, plus a streamlined event sales process and pricing strategy that work together to ensure that The Calyx is recognised as  Sydney’s go-to event space for premium events.

Through the combined delivery of a thoughtfully developed venue catering model and a genuinely effective sales and marketing strategy, Perfectly Paired supported the roll-out of a meaningful hospitality and events tender strategy / management process that will continue to achieve positive results for The Calyx.
